CONFLUENCE
Confluence is a district in the midst of an architectural and urban renewal in Lyon.
For a long time, the name Confluence evoked for the people of Lyon only the geographical location where the Rhône and Saône rivers meet. In 1995, faced with growing real estate pressure on the Presqu'île, the city of Lyon decided to create a "piece of the city" on 150 hectares of reclaimed land. One of the largest urban development projects in France. Home to the Hôtel de Région, a vast leisure and commercial hub and a number of major companies, Confluence has been reborn under the pencil of architects who have turned the banks of the Saône into a place to stroll right up to the Musée des Confluences.
