Restaurant offering homemade takeaway food in Lyon.

Underneath its neighborhood bistro air, Grum & Gram smells of home cooking, the comforting address where friends come to drink and eat well. It's the kind of place you might pass by and wish you'd stepped inside to savour traditional dishes prepared by a chef who doesn't shy away from a little fantasy. Lyonnais inspiration for a hot Lyonnais sausage with winegrower sauce, but variety on the slate that doesn't forget vegetarians. An excellent wine list for toasting (turning the bottom of the glass to aerate it) and rolling between the teeth. Rums to be enjoyed in moderation. Another, more Italian version just a few steps away.

Nous sommes venus manger un peu tard, à 21h30, mais on a demandé par téléphone, puis en arrivant si c'était ok de manger à cette heure-ci. On nous a répondu gentiment que c'était tout bon, sachant que la cuisine fermerait à 22h ainsi que la terrasse. Ce qu'on nous a pas dit, c'est que le restaurant aussi fermerait progressivement pendant qu'on serait en train de manger. Tables nettoyées avec du désinfectant à 30xm de nos assiettes, couverts rangés bruyamment, chaises retournées sur les tables tout autour de nous, lumières progressivement éteintes, bref on s'est vraiment senti mettre dehors. Dommage, car en nous ayant répondu honnêtement que c'était un peu tard, on serait certainement revenus un autre soir car le cadre est charmant. Là, c'est sûr, on ira manger ailleurs... d'autant plus que la cuisine était loin d'être excellente (ravioles sèches et trop cuites...).

Excellent accueil dans ce petit restaurant de quartier. Le cuisinier nous prépare très simplement des plats de « tous les jours » avec des produits frais.
Belle carte des vins au verre (et en bouteille) pour accompagner ce repas.
