More or less open to the public, they can be visited by taking a stroll from Vieux Lyon to Croix-Rousse. The term comes from two Latin words: trans and ambulare, meaning "to pass through". These covered passages between two building courtyards allow you to move from one street to another. In Vieux Lyon, the Renaissance traboules form a dense network of passageways for people and goods.
