Restaurant offering dishes presented on a slate in Lyon.
What a funny name! Quite apt, in fact. But that's not the only stroke of genius of this address, which is the talk of the town. And if it's getting people talking, it's because Sauf Imprévu is the address of a certain Félix, better known by his surname Gagnaire. Yes, Félix is the son of the illustrious Pierre Gagnaire (so, for readers who have been living on Mars for the past few years, let's just say that Pierre Gagnaire is one of the world's greatest chefs), but he doesn't make much of it. In fact, he's not the one behind the stove. There's nothing ostentatious here, except the color blue amidst the old stonework. A contemporary address, made of fine bricks and mortar, serving fresh, inspired cuisine. Dishes presented on a slate that changes frequently. An Iberian pluma, red bell pepper and chorizo sauce, herb semolina or an excellent Montbéliard beef tartare with knife, fries and salad. Pleasant wine list and homemade desserts, also in season. Barring unforeseen circumstances, this is an address that has already been awarded its Bib Gourmand and should, barring unforeseen circumstances, continue to evolve in the right direction.
