If you do not yet how lucky you are to live in Lyon or visit our city, go to this brand new restaurant of a 6th arrondissement that has recently opened the most beautiful gourmet addresses. Le Zeste Gourmand is the creation of Benjamin Bouvard, a young chef (barely in his thirties) very promising having been in the kitchens of Bocuse in Collonges and Henriroux in Vienna - the best references in the region - and a very strong team (very chic) composed of Julie, his wife, Maxime Popier and Cédric Carrasco. Refined room, sober walls decorated with paintings, tables with tablecloths and beautiful crockery, without forgetting a private living room to share a meal with family or colleagues. As for the cuisine, for Benjamin Bouvard everything prepared with good products rigorously selected to compose dishes rich in flavours and great subtlety. The plates are magnificent, but it is mainly the combinations, the agreements accompanied by a few flavours of citrus (the famous Zeste…) that we will remember of a divine meal: Ceviche of Corse Seabream (marinated with citrus and coconut milk, supreme and grapefruit jelly), roasted red mullet fillets (served with green lemon emulsion) or a marinated rack of lamb with Sechuan pepper and purple garlic. Another highlight, desserts (the chef is a Valrhona certified expert for chocolate) with a must-eat chocolate Sphere and forest fruits. Very top wine list. A Zeste Gourmand that enriches the gourmet heritage of Lyon.
