REFUGE DE LA FOURNACHE

Perched at an altitude of 2 340 m and enjoying a superb panoramic view over the dams (Plan d'Amont and Plan d'Aval), this refuge is located on the GR5, on the edge of the Vanoise National Park. From Aussois, it takes between 3 and 4 hours of walking, depending on everyone's level. But it is possible to leave from the roadblocks (1 hour and a half walk). Finally, you can reach the refuge in 1 hour's walk by taking the chairlift. From there, a short 30-minute walk to a big 7:30 am alpine race, everyone has their choice according to their level and their desire. To vary the pleasures, it is necessary to know that there are climbing routes nearby on the Grand Châtelard.
