SARRAZINE TOWER MUSEUM
Museum in a tower full of history in Bozel, symbol of the ostentatious seigneurial power in the past.
Have the Saracens ever been there? Well, not quite, because if they came, it was in the 9th century, well before it was built. This tower owes its name to its architectural aspect above all. It has a rich history that probably dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries, the presumed time of its construction. From the top of its 19 metres, it is a force to be reckoned with from a distance. Over time, it has undergone some modifications, of course, but originally it was assumed to have a residential function, while at the same time providing a very well located guard and observation post. Symbol of the once ostentatious seigniorial power, the tower was part of a complex of which nothing remains.
