This church built on the remains of a Roman temple dedicated to Mercury houses ancient stained glass windows.

Built on the remains of a Roman temple dedicated to Mercury, slightly on the heights, this is the oldest church in Chambéry and probably one of the oldest in Savoy. Its crypt and sepulchre are classified as historical monuments, but remain an enigma for archaeologists. Access is prohibited due to the fragility of the sculptures. Just as is the access to the convent of the visitation and the cemetery, which is the oldest burial place in Chambéry since funerary urns and Roman sarcophagi have been discovered there. This is where the tomb of Madame de Warens, a friend dear to Jean-Jacques Rousseau's heart, is located. The church can be visited and you can admire its old stained glass windows, its Romanesque and Gothic architecture and the Renaissance bell tower..
