COUVENT DES FRANCISCAINS (MUSÉE SAVOISIEN)
Convent of the Franciscans who came to Chambéry in 1220 or Musée Savoisien, departmental museum of history and cultures of Savoy.
It was in 1220 that the Franciscans settled in the commune of Chambéry. Although the convent was initially modest, it was remodelled several times during its history. It was looted during the Revolution and then rebuilt in the early 1800s. Today, the Franciscan convent is none other than the Musée Savoisien, the departmental museum of the history and cultures of Savoy. It houses collections of ethnology, archaeology and art.
