GALLO-ROMAN MUSEUM OF CHANAZ
Gallo-Roman museum, dedicated to the Porkout potters, in the former Gothic chapel, featuring a variety of objects.
Inaugurated in 2001 in a 15th-century Gothic chapel, the Gallo-Roman Museum at Chanaz pays tribute to the Potiers de Portout. It houses a permanent collection, the fruit of archaeological excavations carried out between 1976 and 1987. Research revealed the remains of a workshop established on the banks of the Savières canal in the early5th century AD. Each object on display bears witness to the craftsmanship of the period, offering a real insight into the region's Gallo-Roman past.
