ÉGLISE DE CORBEL
Parish church located on the hillside, remarkable for its magnificent stained glass windows signed by the painter Jean-Marie Pirot.
The village of Corbel, perched at an altitude of 845 meters, is located on the eastern slopes of the Thimelet mountain range. In the Middle Ages, Corbel's parish church was part of the Savoy archpriesthood. Corbel's church is the oldest in the Entremonts region, and is particularly noteworthy for its magnificent stained glass windows by the painter Jean-Marie Pirot, aka Arcabas. These non-figurative windows evoke the life of St. John the Baptist, to whom the church is dedicated. More recently, the door has been replaced by a new one, also designed by the same artist.
