THE HOUSE OF THE MINERS OF THE CHESTNUT GROVE
House presenting an exhibition that traces the history of wolfram mining in the Goul valley in Leucamp.
The Cantal is not well known for having been a mining country. The exhibition retraces the history of wolfram (or tungsten) mining in the Goul valley through a musical and storytelling account. A miner's daughter tells you how the villages of Leucamp and Teissières-les-Bouliès lived, for almost 50 years, at the rhythm of the mine between 1910 and 1959. Models, photos, and staged objects are used to illustrate the story.
