GALLO-ROMAN VILLA IN THE LARGE ORCHARD

Located in the Combe de Savoie, not far from the Isère, at the foot of the Grandes Alpes, this is the ancient part of Gilly-sur-Isère, rediscovered in 1983. The Gallo-Roman villa, which extends 35 m on its side on a square shape, which is quite rare, is, according to specialists, of remarkable quality of construction and decoration. The remains of the walls, uncovered and restored, are preserved and can be visited permanently. On the other hand, you have to go to the Musée de Conflans in Albertville to admire the restored mosaic that has been discovered there.
