CHÂTEAU DE CHANTEMERLE
Several names for a single castle, of which only ruins remain today... Château de Chantemerle, Château de La Bâthie, or also Château de Saint-Didier, it is in any case an old 12th century fortified castle. As could generally be the case, this castle stood as an observation post overlooking the valley. Here, he thus controlled access to the Tarentaise. What remains of the building: a large cylindrical master tower with archers and a square tower slightly below, constituting a still aesthetic and interesting ensemble.
