In this long rue de la République, in the heart of Modane and not far from the train station, the restaurant L'Échappée offers a cuisine made from fresh and local products. A beautiful terrace and a warm room to enjoy the creative cuisine of chef Rémi. Futé appreciates the quality of the products, from here and elsewhere (with beautiful seafood in particular), the care taken with the presentation, the adorable welcome and the irreproachable service to top it all off. A sure value.

Très bon poulet basquaise, service rapide malgré notre arrivée sans réservation et un restaurant bien rempli, accueil très agréable

Mezzogiorno di un giorno feriale, locale pieno ma non pienissimo. Siamo in due e ci fanno sedere. Dopo circa quaranta minuti, nei quali ci hanno detto ripetutamente “arriviamo”, senza neanche portarci un po’ di acqua, ce ne siamo andati. Pessima esperienza. Sul cibo non giudico, ma i piatti principali superano i 20 €, devono essere ottimi. Il servizio è pessimo.

Depuis longtemps, on voulait s'arrêter à l'échappée mais difficile de trouver un horaire convenable et un jour d'ouverture. C'est fait et c'est une totale désillusion. Cuisine ordinaire et service d'une lenteur légendaire. Sans doute victime d'un succès passé et suranné. Curieusement, j'ai l'impression de ne pas être le seul à piaffer d'impatience : les clients autour de nous tapotaient nerveusement en attendant la suite. Une seule chose positive, chaque fois qu'on passera devant l'échappée, plus de regret.... On fuira....
