Lake Aiguebelette and its preserved waters not only offer magnificent landscapes but also shelter a remarkable biodiversity. It is not surprising that, since March 2015, the region has classified Lake Aiguebelette and part of the Epine Forest massif as a Regional Nature Reserve on 844 hectares. A tourist area but also a natural heritage of interest, especially since archaeological remains are added to this complex. The reserve aims to preserve the existing heritage, taking into account pre-existing activities (tourism, fishing, hunting, rowing...) but ensuring that development remains respectful of the area and balances with fauna and flora.
