COMBELLE
For 80 years, this French factory has been manufacturing childcare articles in the small village of Marmanhac, located in the upper valley of the Authors. All its top-of-the-range products are made of solid beech, from a harvest of trees rigorously selected in Auvergne. Its unique expertise has been awarded the Entreprise du patrimoine vivant award.
History. The Combelle adventure began in 1926, under the impetus of Marcel Combelle, who manufactured umbrella sticks using the famous curved wood technique. This mastery of bending has been passed down from generation to generation. Gérard Combelle, grandson of the creator of the company of the same name, 3rd generation, continues on the line, by conviction and passion. In 2015, Combelle joined the Angevin group Candide Baby Group, which specialises in childcare with its brands Candide, Tinéo and Latitude Enfant. Its products are mainly sold in France, but also in Spain, Belgium, England, and soon in Northern Europe, as well as in Hong Kong, Dubai and Angola.
The products. Chairs, changing tables, beds, furniture items. The latest innovation from Combelle is the two-tone solid beech chairs, a unique item on the wooden childcare furniture market. In addition, Combelle is also a manufacturer of various wooden structures, such as Chilean chairs, chaise longue, broom heads, dyeing of wooden elements, varnishing of small parts...
Employment. 45 employees produce 30,000 pieces per year.
