In mid-July, at an altitude of more than 2,000 metres, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves celebrates the sheep. It is about living an episode of transhumance with a herd of 1,000 sheep and their shepherd. The event is organized by the Tourist Offices of Saint-Sorlin and Saint-Jean-d'Arves. An appointment is given at the Col de la Croix de fer to discuss with the breeder. At this point, you can enjoy an incredible view of the Aiguilles d'Arves. The meeting and the day being festive, traditional music and barbecue (paying and on reservation) complete the program. But it is also possible to take your meal from the bag. A beautiful event conducive to discovery.
