FRANCO-ITALIAN HOUSE OF MONT-CENIS
House housing the memory of Mont Cenis, with objects from the old hospice.
What the hell is a pyramid doing on Mount Cenis? Built in 1967, it houses the memory of Mount Cenis. With the construction of the dam, the destruction of the mountain pastures, the radical change of the landscape and the flooding of the hospice and its priory, it was important to keep a trace of the past. Objects from the former hospice, testifying to the passage of stagecoaches or the railway, and tools used to work in the mountain pastures are on display. This is one of the highest museums in Europe, located at an altitude of 2,100 m.
