Perched at an altitude of 2,764 meters, the Col de l'Iseran is the highest pass in the Maurienne region, and is also a major national and international cycling venue. The Tour de France has passed through here seven times. It leads from the Arc and Maurienne valleys to the Isère and Tarentaise valleys. The pass is located in the Vanoise National Park. From the summit, you can see the Grande Sassière (3,747 m), the Tstanteleina (3,608 m) and, on the Maurienne side, the Albaron (3,428 m) at the summit of Bonneval.
