ÉGLISE SAINT-JEAN-BAPTISTE
A building with an austere facade, housing an ashlar portal, a beautiful wooden statue and numerous treasures.
Suspended above, on the vaulted ceilings, are depictions of the Latin Church Fathers, the work of Jacques Arienta's skillful brushwork in the early 19th century. The true Baroque spirit of this edifice can be seen in the present main altarpiece, which replaces the one created by Jean-Marie Molino in 1681. Framing it is a vivid painting by Hyacinthe Pignol from 1763, in which Christ's baptism comes to life under the benevolent gaze of St. Peter and St. Paul.
