The ONF is in charge of the 38,223 ha of public forests from the Basse-Terre massif to the steep cliffs of northern Grande-Terre. This territory includes state-owned forests, departmental forests and sites belonging to the coastal conservatory. The agents are committed to preserving forest ecosystems with topographical and landscape disparities. The Guadeloupean forest is composed of four types of forests as well as the mangrove which integrates the coastal wetlands.
