GERTY ARCHIMEDE MUSEUM
Museum in the former home of Gerty Archimède, the first woman to be admitted to the bar and Guadeloupe's first member of parliament.
This museum is dedicated to the memory of Gerty Archimède, born in Morne à l'eau (North Grande Terre). She was the first woman lawyer registered at the bar of Guadeloupe and the first deputy of Guadeloupe. She lived in this house until her death in 1980. Since then, the place has become a cultural and educational center with a permanent exhibition that allows you to discover this left-wing political personality, feminist activist and important figure for the struggles of Guadeloupean women. The building was labeled "Maison des Illustres" in 2012.
