Pond called "la Grand'eau de la montagne", a haven of peace at 400 m altitude with the fauna and flora of the rainforest.

The Amerindians called this pond "the Great Water of the Mountain". This haven of peace is just a few metres from an overgrown trail. At an altitude of 400 m, you'll discover the flora and fauna of the rainforest. Along the way, another path leads to a 2-hectare lake in the shape of an ace of spades in the Trois-Rivières commune. Randonnée autour de Grand étang une bonne heure et demie, immersion végétale garantie, mais par temps de pluie certaines zones pentues sont bien boueuses et bien glissantes, ATTENTION ! un petit passage à gué aussi, et une cabane d'observation de la faune en fin de boucle.

Une très belle randonnée autour du grand étang, où l'on peut admirer la faune et la flore qui peuplent cette étendue d'eau. Pendant notre promenade, nous avons traversé à plusieurs reprises des bras de rivière, et nous avons pu admirer une jolie cascade cachée dans la forêt. A la fin du parcours, il y a un observatoire des oiseaux qui permet de découvrir les habitants de l'étang.

Une longue et belle randonnée située sur le chemin, en voiture, d'une des Chutes du Carbet. On y entre pleinement dans la faune et la flore guadeloupéenne avec une variété de paysage et de couleurs assez conséquentes. Attention tout de même aux moustiques quand l'après-midi avance. Désagréable surprise finale !
