The island's largest and oldest distillery and the only eco-positive rum estate producing quality rums.
At the foot of its still-operating windmill, the Bellevue distillery is not only the largest on the island, but also the oldest, since it can be traced back to maps dating from 1769. The colourful distillery next to the windmill is easy to spot from afar, especially when the cane has been harvested. From its two incredible all-copper concentration columns, in perfect keeping with tradition, flows an agricultural rum of excellence. The distillery produces 50° and 59° agricultural rums, aged rums ranging from 3 to 12 years, and exotic fruit punches (maracudja, coconut, pineapple, vanilla, pété bwagèt), the maceration of which varies from one fruit to another, planters, pinacolada, coffee cream, chocolate), local products (honey, battery syrup, sugar, jam, coconut flour, cassava flour) and cultural heritage works in the form of records and books. The Bellevue distillery is also the first environmentally-friendly distillery and the only eco-positive rum estate in the world. Its electricity consumption is largely covered by its solar power production. As tradition dictates, the distillery is regularly awarded a gold or silver medal by the Concours Général Agricole at the Foire de Paris, confirming the exceptional quality of its rums.
