HEAD-TO-ENGLISH
Ilet, whose name recalls the battles for possession of the West Indies, has become a protected bird breeding site.
This islet takes its name from the time of the battles for possession of the West Indies between the French and the English. The French used to practice shooting on this islet whose shape reminded them of the helmet worn by English troops. Today it is the property of the ONF and a protected bird breeding site: several species of terns, frigates, brown boobies... come here to take refuge as well as anolis. On the flora side, cactus species reign supreme. It is forbidden to land on the islet.
