GRANDE-ANSE BEACH
Golden sandy beach with turquoise water, one of the largest and most beautiful beaches in Guadeloupe, with shady spots in the background.
It's one of the largest and most beautiful beaches in Guadeloupe. Imagine over a kilometer of golden sand lapped by the waves of crystal-clear turquoise water protected by a coral reef. Its arched shape makes it even more singular. The contrast between the shade of the sand and the sky is superb, with beautiful vegetation in the background, mainly grape and coconut palms, offering shady spots for siestas or picnics. In particular, avoid the mancenillia trees (whose trunks are circled in red); when it rains, these trees produce sap and fruit that can cause burns.
Beware: some rollers are more virulent than others, and common ones can be surprising and dangerous! Take extra care with children. And beware of the depths, which arrive very quickly (after just one metre!). Even though holidaymakers and tourists flock to this beach, the impression of wild grandeur and authenticity prevails. The site is particularly popular with locals at weekends and on public holidays. Many restaurants are located here. This landscape may seem familiar to you if you watch the Anglo-French series Murder in Paradise, whose episodes have been filmed in the commune of Deshaies for many years. Grande Anse beach was also the setting for the recent TV adaptation of Agathe Christine's novel Ils étaient Dix.

Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour se restaurer.
Personnellement préférais les petites plages aux alentours mais très sympa tout de même
Mon petit plus : y arriver à pied par le sentier littoral depuis la plage de Rifflet : vue à couper le souffle !
