MOREAU FALLS
Waterfalls to discover on a level 3 hike, inviting you to take a dip after crossing a forest and a river.
A beautiful hike classified level 3. Count a little more than 4 hours round trip. This level 3 means that it is reserved for experienced hikers, notably because of several river crossings. Be careful! Take good walking shoes, a few provisions in a waterproof bag, water and a telephone. Always warn a third person of your planned itinerary (if necessary your landlord who could give the alarm if he does not see you coming back). In case of rain, don't risk it and turn back because the water level of the rivers can rise very quickly and the fords are no longer passable. The access road as well as the hiking trail were restored after the damage caused by the 2004 earthquake. The walk is very pleasant in dry weather as you wind through the forest at the rhythm of the river while admiring, in passing, beautiful refreshing waterfalls; you go into the green forest of Moreau and you walk between the long lianas, the chestnut trees and the mangrove trees. After a little more than 2 kilometers, crossing and re-crossing this river, you reach a fork, which serves, on the right, a pretty waterfall by the Mangle ravine. You can make the hook, it is only with 200 meters! The arrival in front of the waterfall is spectacular. At its feet, a pool is a great opportunity to bathe and refresh yourself. The access steps have been carved out of the rock.
