Formerly used to transport goods, this canal is now used by tourists to visit the mangrove swamps.

The Canal des Rotours was dug in 1827 by slaves on the initiative of Baron des Rotours, in order to open up Morne-à-l'eau to Pointe-à-Pitre. It contributed to the town's development through the transportation of goods. Sugar mills were built along the canal. Up to 20 dwellings were built along the canal. Long abandoned, the commune has now embarked on a first phase of work to redevelop the banks. The eventual aim is to link Blanchet to Vieux-Bourg by bike, on foot or on the water.
