MACOU ISLAND
Îlet in the Grand-Cul-de-Sac-Marin Nature Reserve, where you can observe flora and fauna in their most natural state.
A veritable treasure trove of vegetation populated by hermit crabs, Macou islet is an ideal place to observe flora and fauna in their most natural element. Situated in the Grand-Cul-de-Sac-Marin Nature Reserve, the islet is seldom visited by tourists, but many Guadeloupeans like to pay their respects in the small hard chapel at the end of the islet, which has been eroded by the sea. Departures to the islet are from the center of Vieux-Bourg. You can also get there by asking a fisherman for a few euros.
