In Saint Laurent, the cooks of Guadeloupe gather in Pointe-à-Pitre for a mass and then parade in full costume.
A mass in honor of the patron saint of cooks, Saint Laurent, is held at the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul in Pointe-à-Pitre. The mass is followed by a parade of cooks in full regalia, to which the archipelago's leading figures are invited, including the city's Mayor, the Prefect... The cooks present their dishes in the streets of Pointe-à-Pitre, inviting the public to sample traditional dishes. The association has over 200 members (men and women).
