SUB-PREFECTURE
A building with an H-shaped floor plan and typical military architecture, home to the sub-prefecture's public services.
This building was built in the middle of the 19th century and used to house an infantry barracks. It was rebuilt in 1843 after the earthquake and expanded in 1858. The building has an H-shaped plan with an architecture characteristic of military buildings. The brightly colored exterior paintings contrast with the austerity in terms of decoration. Behind the façade is a large courtyard where the annexes were located. Today, the building is used for administrative purposes as it houses the public services of the sub-prefecture.
