One of the city's oldest markets, also known as Marché Central and Marché Saint-Antoine. It housed market gardeners in a wooden hall that was destroyed by fire in 1871. The new metal halls date from 1874. The atmosphere is colorful and fragrant with the fruits and spices on display. You'll also find punches, basketry and love potions... Some vendors wear traditional madras and maré tèt (headdress). It's advisable to ask permission before taking photos.

Very nice market... Our charming saleswoman did not hesitate to make us enjoy these spices to a low price and even a small gift... A small sachet of mix of cinnamon and aniseed, without even as you ask him wanting... Very pleasant...
Do not miss the market pointe Clown: the spice smells, colourful crowd, the traditional activities and products are a feast for the senses!
