PAVILLON DU TOURISME
The only building on the archipelago with a Norman-style half-timbered upper storey was the Darracq house, built around 1850.
This beautiful orange-colored building with half-timbering and a brick-colored roof is located near the university, as well as the Saint-Claude media library. Built around 1850, it is the Maison Darracq, the former kitchen (with basement dungeon) of Camp Jacob (home to the university). It's the only building on the archipelago with a half-timbered Norman-style first floor. It was a private house after demilitarization in 1911, before becoming the Pavillon du Tourisme.
