The building has been restored and turned into a cultural meeting place, with an exhibition hall and heritage conservation center.
This building, which dates back to the 19th century, was once a prison. Left abandoned for years and completely dilapidated, the building was superbly restored by a Guadeloupean architect, Fritz Grenon, who left his mark on it, and then inaugurated in 2000. The building now houses an exhibition and heritage conservation room, a cultural meeting place and offers artists a space to present their work.
