Museum presenting four exhibitions on the history of rum and rum-making, with tastings and products on offer.

This museum brings together four exhibitions in one place. Here you can discover the history of rum and rum-making. The main stop, the Musée du Rhum, retraces three centuries of the evolution of sugarcane harvesting, with exhibits and objects from the past (the cooper's workshop, cutlasses from around the world, the sucrote...). A film shot at the distillery , "Les heures du rhum", translated into several languages, details the secrets involved in making rum, a local product par excellence, from the planting of the cane to bottling.

In the second area, the Insect Gallery, you are invited to discover a collection of over 5,000 of the most beautiful and unusual naturalized insects from all over the world. The third gallery is devoted to Tall Ships. It includes almost 40 model ships. The final gallery features sand from all over the world.

At the same time, showcases depicting scenes from agricultural life and the small trades of yesteryear will help you to understand the gestures and know-how of our ancestors.

In the boutique, you'll find a range of products from the distillery, including white agricultural rum, amber rum (including Original Barrel Kou de Foudre, Spirits Selection Gold Medal 2023), aged rum, punches and schrub (a local Christmas drink made from citrus peel). Free tasting at the end of the tour (on request). Wheelchair access only to ground-floor areas.
