FIDELIN POTTERY
Former pottery founded in 1760, with remains of the workshop, cisterns, beast mill and manor house.
The old pottery, also known as the "Grand Bay Factory" was founded in 1760 and was part of a dwelling that disappeared with the sugar crisis of 1815. Pride of the island, this industrial monument is one of the last vestiges of the pottery and sugar activity of Guadeloupe, in full effervescence in the 17th and 19th centuries. It produced sugar forms and molasses pots, containers used for the manufacture of sugar. Remains of the workshop, cisterns, ovens, the mill and the manor house are still present on the site.
