Old battery near Anse Galet and Pré-Cassin coves, protecting the island's radio telephone installations.
This old battery, whose construction was completed in 1870, currently protects the island's radio telephone facilities. These military installations are located on a small elevation of five metres above sea level near the small cove of Anse Galet and Pré-Cassin (which is next to Terre-de-Haut). Four artillery pieces and some buildings remain, including those used as a storage place for gunpowder and artillery.
