Mana, a town in the French Guiana department, offers visitors an experience rich in cultural and natural diversity. Founded in 1828 by Mother Anne-Marie JAVOUHEY, Mana is also known for its congregation of Sœurs de Saint-Joseph de Cluny. With a population of over 10,000, the town covers an area of 6,633 km² in western Guyana, along the majestic 99-jump river. Mana boasts a picturesque built heritage, with numerous Creole houses and a listed church dating back over a century. Visitors can discover pleasant spots such as the Organabo creek, the Acarouany creek and former leper colony, and the Anne-Marie JAVOUHEY museum. The Javouhey market offers a market garden produced by the Hmongs, who supply not only western French Guyana with fresh fruit and vegetables, but also the island of Cayenne. Fans of handicrafts will find Bushinengé, Amerindian and Hmong products.
