The infrastructure offers more than reasonable comfort for the price: air conditioning, wifi and TV, terrace, parking, swimming pool, all set in an imposing mansion surrounded by a large wooded park. The hotel's restaurant, open daily for lunch and dinner, serves Creole dishes as well as French and Italian fare: beef carpaccio, duck breast, around twenty pizzas, wild shrimps from French Guiana...

On aimerait manger sur la terrasse mais c'est le repaire des fumeurs. C'est dommage.
As for the food, prepare your wallet because the prices are sky-high for a quality that is frankly lacking. One would expect at least a satisfactory culinary experience given the rates, but this is not the case.
The icing on the cake was undoubtedly the incompetence of the reception staff when it came to ordering a taxi. Despite multiple requests, they systematically forgot to make the booking, causing me significant delays for my appointments. It is unacceptable for an establishment claiming to offer a certain standard to not even be able to provide such a basic service.
In summary, I strongly advise against the Hôtel La Marmotte to anyone looking for a pleasant experience in French Guiana. Between the atrocious service, the inconveniences related to the lack of nearby banking services, the exorbitant prices of the food, and the blatant inefficiency of the staff, there's plenty of reason to look elsewhere.
