Discover Cilaos by bike - it's possible! Christophe Payet rents AE mountain bikes (all-terrain with electric assistance-Scott and KTM) by the half-day or day. You can ride the 53 km of trails (roads and paths) on your own, with a detailed map in hand. Cilaos has a dozen signposted circuits, ranging from 1.5 km (Petit Matarum) to 20 km (Grande boucle de Cilaos), from very easy (accessible to families) to very difficult (for hardened sportsmen and women). Reservations recommended at weekends and during school vacations.
