A calbanon is a Creole word designating a stone roof stone box that inhabited the slaves. It is more modern. This large box consists of a double bedroom, a family, a 10-seat dormitory with bunk beds. Residents share two common bathrooms, two equipped kitchens and a terrace with panoramic views of the circus and village. The centre is 5 minutes walk and the mare in Rushes is just a few steps away. Meals are available upon reservation.

A very simple but very welcoming cottage, located in the centre, within walking distance of Chemin des Porteurs. Dormitory rooms in a simple but with a bunk bed where you don't risk the fracture of the skull each time you go up. Impeccable facilities. Excellent breakfast (best never given, and I live Reunion!). Very warm welcome of Valerie. One of the most accessible places of Cilaos.
