FÊTE DU GOYAVIER

Organized by the tourist office of the East, the Goyavier festival is one of the unmissable events of the East. For three days, the town of La Plaine-des-Palmistes celebrates the return of this small fruit so long awaited in Réunion Island and yet little known by the metropolitans. Not to be confused with the guava, this small red or acid yellow ball of guava blooms along the hiking trails from May to June but also in the city's orchards. On the programme: music, parades, tastings, gastronomy competitions and of course the election of Miss Goyavier!
