No roads cross Mafate. Hikers wishing to save 2 or 3 hours' walk to get directly to the trailhead at Deux-Bras can reach the site by 4x4, via the Rivière des Galets. Alain Legros, a specialist in off-road driving, will take you there. On a 10 km track reserved exclusively for 4x4 vehicles. The Rivière des Galets has been his playground for over 25 years! A little extra: ask about the possibility of storing your car in Le Port or La Possession.
