CHEZ NEHOUA
Small typical store in the neighborhood offering sausage and char.
Don't be fooled by the uninviting appearance of this small shop in a typical Réunion Island neighbourhood. The address exists since 1947 and it is a real institution. It is here that the best sarcives of the island are made. The sarcive or char siu is a Reunionese speciality of Chinese origin consumed as an aperitif. It is prepared with pork loin or chicken, then marinated in a sweet honey-based sauce whose recipe is secretly kept by the Nahoua family. Believe us, it is worth the detour and it is better to order in advance.
