BALANCE COCO
An old manual balance, where les» came to unload their horse cart until July 2009. Whereas in 2000, the coco received nearly 10 000 tons of sugar cane, in 2008 alone 3 800 tonnes were recorded. That is why today there is only a metal portico… In order to save this heritage, the Amicale des planteurs de la balance was born in order to propose tourist circuits that would be covered by charretiers.
In the meantime, some cultural events are organized there, such as the great kabar 2009, which celebrated the classification of maloya to the intangible heritage of UNESCO.
