CHEMIN PAVÉ DE BELLEMÈNE
Here's a pleasant stroll along Réunion Island's oldest paved road. It dates back to the early 18th century. It was once used to transport crops (notably coffee) by oxcart from Bellemène to the center of the western capital. This magnificent three-hundred-year-old path has been undergoing restoration for almost seven years. The Bellemène Pavé association has recreated a Lontan village with a hut, chicken coop, kitchen and even a cabin. The path offers a superb panorama of the west coast, from Cap Lahoussaye to Le Port.
