On the seafront, north of Saint-Paul, just follow the signs. This pond, which basks in the sun in a pleasant undergrowth, is a reservoir of rich biodiversity covering 485 hectares. Here you can observe moorhens, herons and papangues. The Étang de Saint-Paul was classified as a national nature reserve in 2008. It is the largest coastal wetland in the Mascareignes archipelago.
