A spectacular and refreshing stopover in the East. The waterfalls of the Windward Coast are much more watery than those of the West, and while Niagara obviously looks pale beside its American namesake, it still dominates the St. Suzanne River and its ruffled banks some 50 metres high, imposing its thunderous roar on them, especially in summer during the rainy season. Don't be surprised to see Reunion Islanders rushing there after a heavy rainstorm to admire the spectacle. Watch out for the weekend rush.

Voici une des cascades les plus célèbres de l'île, même si ce n'est pas la plus impressionnante. Elle reste quand même d'une hauteur respectable et son accès assez facile fait d'elle une belle attraction du coin!

Cascades Niagara en kayak
Nous avons loué des kayaks au Niagara Canoé Kayak Club et avons remonté la rivière jusqu'aux cascades, c'était top !
Il faut être un peu sportif car il y a des passages à sec, mais c'était un merveileux moment.

La route est marrante car elle passe dans les champs de canne à sucre. La cascade en elle même n'est pas la plus impressionnante que j'aie pu voir à la Réunion, mais il y a un sacré écho. En plus, il y a des restes d'un parcours d'accrobranche et de via ferrata qui cassent un peu le panorama.

Cascade facile d'accès puisqu'on y va en voiture. Encore plus magnifique pendant la saison des pluies. Y aller de préférence en semaine pour éviter le monde.
