A huge promontory commemorating the Battle of Reichshoffen.
This memorial is a huge, stepped promontory. It commemorates what is commonly referred to as the "Battle of Reichshoffen", even though French archives refer to the Battle of Froeschwiller, and German archives to the Battle of Woerth. August 6, 1870 marked the start of the war against Prussia. The French cuirassiers charged with force, making history, but they were defeated and the Germans were able to conquer the Vosges roads.

Imposant !
